About Selous

Covering 50,000 square kilometers (larger than Switzerland), Selous Game Reserve is one of Africa's oldest and largest protected areas. Named after explorer Frederick Selous, this UNESCO World Heritage Site remains one of the continent's last great wilderness areas.

Unlike Tanzania's northern parks, Selous offers a more exclusive, off-the-beaten-path safari experience with diverse landscapes from the Rufiji River to miombo woodlands and grassy plains.
